my girlfriend's ugly haircut

my girlfriend's ugly haircut
makes her shake with anger
and
worry about money

she breaks her fingernail
against the bedside table
where she yells
and
slaps the wicker coloured hardness
that matches her words
and
her fast falling tears

my girlfriend's hair cut
is not ugly to me at all
but
i'll wait
'til she is showered
clean and calm
before i tell her

i know that she'll laugh then
smile again
and
let me hold her for awhile
